Our History
My grandmother (Leona Prevost Guidry), mother (Rome Guidry) and aunt (Paulette Guidry) have earned their living working in the food and beverage industry in New Orleans. Their passion and dedication for providing a wonderful customer experience while at work always followed them home. This ensured that relatives and friends would get to enjoy a flavorful Creole eating event while making their holiday rounds. In New Orleans, many natives travel all over the city to celebrate the cooking traditions of their favorite neighborhood chefs. A good time was expected, and those expectations continue to be fulfilled at the Guidry home, located in the Treme neighborhood, just blocks from the historic French Quarter.
Charlie Anderson, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, travelled north to Iowa to earn a BBA in Marketing from the University of Dubuque and a MBA in General Business from St. Ambrose University. His experience in food preparation and service includes positions at New Orleans' Superdome, Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton hotels, as well as Mr. B's Bistro in the French Quarters. Charlie has worked in sales and marketing for many years in the corporate world, and is now enjoying the adventure of bringing family recipes to market under the Guidry's brand.
Jennifer Anderson, a native of State Center, Iowa and an owner of KCQ Foods, earned a BS in Chemistry from Loras College. She worked as a clinical chemist for the University of Iowa's State Hygienic Laboratory. Now she manages the day to day business operations for KCQ Foods, LLC. The name of the company comes from their three sons: Kael, Colin and Quinn.
